Nigerian superstar Davido has announced his withdrawal from 50 Cent’s upcoming concert in London on July 3, where he was slated to perform alongside Mary J. Blige.
In a statement on Instagram Saturday, June 14, 2025, the “Unavailable” hitmaker clarified that his decision was based on “a matter of principle and respect for my craft,” not poor ticket sales.
He emphasized that the concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will proceed as planned, but without his appearance, underscoring the sentiment that “Africa must be respected.”
He thanked his fans for their support and assured them that his summer tour dates in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the United States would go ahead as planned.
“This decision is not a reflection of turnout or support; it is a matter of principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent. London, I’ll see you soon—I promise. Africa must be respected,” he concluded.
Davido’s decision has sparked discussions across social media, with many praising his stance on artistic integrity and cultural dignity.
