Bayern Targets Gakpo, Leão; Man Utd Eyes Martínez
Bayern Munich is reportedly preparing significant offers for Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and AC Milan’s Rafael Leão, with both players expected to command fees of at least €70m. To fund these moves, Bayern may need to sell a player, with Joao Palhinha potentially on the chopping block after limited playing time. Bayern could make an initial bid for the 25-year-old Leão, who contributed to 16 goals in 34 Serie A matches, as early as this week.
Meanwhile, Manchester United is exploring a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, although a deal for the 32-year-old, contracted until 2029, could be challenging due to Villa’s high demands. Barcelona has also reportedly expressed interest. In other transfer news, Manchester United has submitted an opening offer of £45m plus £10m in add-ons for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, a figure that falls short of Brentford’s valuation despite Mbeumo’s stated desire to join Old Trafford.
