Iran has dismissed nuclear talks with the United States as “meaningless” following Israel’s extensive military strikes, which Tehran claims Washington supported.
“You cannot claim to negotiate and at the same time allow [Israel] to target Iran’s territory,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told Tasnim news agency on Saturday. The US denies complicity and has urged Iran to negotiate.
However, US President Donald Trump called the Israeli attacks “excellent,” suggesting it offers Iran a “second chance” to make a deal and avoid further destruction. This comes despite earlier reports of Trump warning against actions that could harm nuclear discussions.
