
R. Kelly was hospitalized last week after his lawyers claim he overdosed on medication provided by prison staff.
A June 17 filing from his legal team alleges that on June 12, following his placement in solitary confinement, Kelly received an “overdose quantity” of his regular anxiety and sleep medication, leading to his hospitalization on Friday, June 13.

His lawyers also contend he was forcibly removed from Duke University Hospital against medical advice. The Bureau of Prisons has not commented on the allegations, citing “pending litigation.”
The 58-year-old singer, serving a 30-year sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking since 2022, is incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institute in Butner, North Carolina
